An Open Letter to the People of New Zealand

Concerning Benny Hinn and His 'Healing' Crusade

American faith healer, Benny Hinn, is scheduled to conduct a one-day crusade in Auckland, New Zealand on June 25, 2006. The crusade will be held at the Hyatt Regency, Auckland, where, according to Hinn's website, is already "SOLD OUT!"

It is no secret that controversy follows Benny Hinn in virtually every country he visits. Controversy raged last year in India, and this year in Fiji, and Trinidad & Tobago. Both Christians and non-Christians wrote articles, letters to government officials, Letters to the Editor of local newspapers, and news releases warning and protesting against Hinn's "healing" crusades.

This year, in Fiji, Trinidad & Tobago, and Australia, government officials were provided with solid documentation proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that Benny Hinn is a false prophet, false teacher, and false healer.

Yet many Fijian and Trinidadian government officials sat on stage with Hinn during his crusades.

And despite the articles, books, videos, DVDs, and news media documentaries that expose Hinn's legacy of deception, professing Christians flock to to his "healing" crusades by the thousands, and blindly provide their hard-earned money to support Hinn's extravagant lifestyle of expensive homes, cars, jewelry, and custom-made clothing.

Benny Hinn's "Miracle" crusades leave a trail-of-tears and broken hearts. Many people who truly love the Lord attend the crusades with a hope and a prayer that they will be healed. But when they learn they aren't healed, they blame themselves and feel unworthy and undeserving.

Yes, God still heals and still performs miracles. But if Benny Hinn truly had the Biblical gift of healing, as outlined in 1 Corinthians chapter 12, he would immediately go to the hospitals, emergency rooms, and nursing homes in every country he visits. But he doesn't, because Benny Hinn does not have the Biblical gift of healing.

Now, as Benny Hinn visits New Zealand, his legacy of deception will continue, that is, unless New Zealanders say, Enough is enough!" and refuse to show up.

Indeed, false prophets, false teachers, and false healers like Benny Hinn flourish because well-meaning, but gullible believers fail to put them to the Biblical test and study their Bibles (1 Thessalonians 5:21; 2 Timothy 2:15).

'Put Benny Hinn to the Biblical test. If

he fails, put him back on the plane!'

Once Hinn's plane lands in New Zealand, Christian Research Service suggests that the New Zealand officials immediately drive him and his entourage to the nearest hospital to "touch" the sick and dying. If Hinn has the true, New Testament gift of healing (as outlined in 1 Corinthians chapter 12), then the bedridden and lame will walk; the diseased will be healed; the weak will be made strong; those with amputated limbs will instantly grow new arms and legs; children confined to wheelchairs with Spina Bifida and Multiple Sclerosis will get out of their wheelchairs and walk; the suffering will find peace; broken bodies will be mended; the blind will gain their sight; the deaf will hear; the dead will be raised to life.

However, if Benny Hinn fails the Biblical test, put him back on the plane!

But Benny Hinn won't do it, because unlike his so-called "healing" crusades, the sick and dying in the hospitals, emergency rooms, and nursing homes are beyond his immediate control during his crusades--where the "healed" are handpicked from the crowd by a team of trained assistants.

Benny Hinn's  prophecies, teachings, and healing crusades are dangerous to the spiritual and physical welfare of believers worldwide. If you truly love Jesus Christ, then obey His Scriptural warnings in Matthew chapter 24, and stay completely away from the false teachers of our day.

Therefore, what is the alternative to attending Benny Hinn's crusade? Stay home. Spend time with your family. Read and study your Bible. Use your money to feed the hungry and shelter the homeless.

We truly love the people of New Zealand, and pray you will strongly consider this letter when Benny Hinn visits your country.

Sincerely in Christ,
