Johnson.

Selected Articles,
Information, and News Releases:
Do not be bound together
with unbelievers; for what
partnership
have
righteousness and lawlessness, or
what fellowship has light
with darkness? Or what harmony has
Christ with Belial, or what has a
believer in
common with an unbeliever?
(2 Corinthians 6:14-15)
Anyone who goes too far and
does not abide in the teaching
of Christ, does not have God;
the one who abides in the
teaching, he has both the Father
and the Son. If anyone comes to
you and does not bring this
teaching, do not receive him
into your house, and do not give
him a greeting; for the one who
gives him a greeting
participates in his evil deeds
(2 John 1:9-10).
There is one body and one
Spirit, just as also you were called
in one hope of your calling; one
Lord, one faith, one baptism
(Ephesians 4:4-5).
LDS, reverend stand together
10/22/03 (this article states that,
"Earlier this year, Rev. Johnson
brought students from religious
campuses to learn more about the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints by interacting with BYU
students." It also states that, "BYU
Student Body President Dave Johnson
is combining forces with Rev.
Johnson to allow BYU students
involved with Student Leadership to
make a trip to a Christian
campus").

Evangelical to speak in LDS
Tabernacle
11/5/04 (according to this article,
Greg Johnson "brought Zacharias to
Utah a decade ago, and two years
ago, scheduled this year's

Christianity is the answer to the
world's problems...It will be
something Latter-day Saints are not
used to hearing, which is a
philosophical defense of Christ'").
Evangelists visit BYU, Temple Square
(This is the article that quoted
Greg Johnson stating that, "'We are
trying to show the upcoming
generation that we don't have to be
confrontational on truth,' Johnson
said. 'There is a lot of room for us
to build on our compromise of
scriptures'" 1/21/05). After being
contacted by Christian Research
Service, Johnson changed his
statements to, "'We are trying to
show the upcoming generation that
truth does not always have to be
confrontational. There is a lot of
room for us to build on our common
values and share on our perspectives
of the scriptures" ( Ibid.).
While BYU NewsNet maintained
they had quoted Greg Johnson
properly in their 1/21/05 article
[which was verified by phone calls],
they allowed Johnson's
"clarification" on 2/23/05 (see last
paragraph of the above article).

states that "Millet and Johnson
speak together at sessions around
the country in an effort to create
better understanding on both sides.
Last year their group, Standing
Together Ministries, helped organize
an event in which evangelical
philosopher Ravi Zacharias was
invited to speak at the Mormon
Tabernacle in Salt Lake City--the
first appearance by someone of
another faith in more than a
century").

Mormon Prophet's Contribution to
American and Christian History,"

Standing Together Ministries")

Friendship based on faith:
Panel
discussion focuses on similarities
between two religions

most of their time focusing on the

Baptist teachings about Jesus")
3/31/06
'Standing Together' seeks to
unite evangelical church bodies

relationships are the most important
factor for a successful exchange").
Romney Contemplates The Religion
Factor
1/9/07 (concerning Mitt Romney and
his belief in "Jesus," Greg Johnson
is quoted stating that, "'He has
said numbers of times in the media
that I believe Jesus Christ is the
son of God. That may be ok for now
but I think as he becomes more
successful, both the media and the
individual citizens are gonna say,
ok that's great, but tell us
more'").

his bio, is a "Latter-day Saint
Director of Interfaith Relations for
Orange County, California, and work
with conservative Christian
churches, organizations and
universities. I set up a two-day
seminar at Biola University, between
LDS Philosophy students from BYU and
Evangelical Philosophy students from
Talbot; a dinner of LDS Institute
students from Cypress college and
Biola students who heard

Romney addresses issue of faith
12/6/07 (concerning Mitt Romney's

think he was able to inspire to
people of faith that with the

government?

Profound 'Divide' explores 2
faiths
12/23/07 (concerning the
Johnson/Millet dialogues, this
Deseret Morning News article
states: "The reason for their
success, they agree, is that they
are not trying to debate or convert
each other--but to establish a
dialogue that will help members of
both faiths to understand each
other. Now they have written a book
together in which they argue that it
is important that their two faiths
'discover ways to come together' or
they 'will surely suffer
together'").
Did Romney's guarded
approach do him in?
2/8/08 (according to this
news release, in 2006, Greg
Johnson and Robert Millet
"took a couple of trips back
East to meet with members of
Mitt Romney's camp. They
weren't there as supporters
of his potential
presidential bid, per se,
but rather because they had
a vested interest in how
Romney would approach the
months, even years, ahead if
he were to make a run." The
news release also states
that "Johnson says Romney
should have applied the
prescription."
Forlorn dream: End
for Romney's campaign
began in Iowa
2/8/08 (Greg Johnson is
quoted in this news
release stating that
'"'There was enough
ignorance, enough
suspicion, enough
secrecy about Mormonism
for people to say,
'They're nice people,
but . . .' And it's that
'but' that killed
Romney...'"
